Paul's epistle to Romans is his longest. Chapter 6 explores people being slaves to sin, or slaves to God.

Christian theology has it that God is life, and by embracing God one finds eternal life. And by rejecting God (sin) one loses their relationship with God and will not have eternal life with Him.
