Bible Quote Mar 20th Galatians 5:22-23

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.” - Galatians 5:22-23

Excellent food from Turkey may be attributed, in part, to some Gauls from Thrace who settled there around 300 BC. Romans called that area Galatia. Paul wrote to the Galatian churches some time from the late 40's to early 60s. This verse is preceded by a warning of what being slave to pleasures of the flesh results.

Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

It is telling that there are no laws against the fruits of the spirit. Because we live in times where laws get passed which are not good laws. But there are laws against many pleasures of the flesh.
