Paul wrote Timothy to guide him as a leader in the church. Some say Paul has not written this because he uses words he does not use elsewhere, suggesting a later church than Paul had known in his lifetime. This particular chapter has Paul writing in prayer for all men. Paul declares here that Jesus was the messiah God had sent, as had been prophesied.
